Dam tot Dam with Maria
Running has always been more than just a physical activity for me; it has become a source of strength and a way to honor my loved ones.
My motivation to run is deeply personal. My dad passed away this year, at 90 years old, and throughout his life he battled with LBD and suffered two strokes. Seeing him face this challenge has inspired me to push myself beyond my limits, both physically and mentally. Every step I take is a tribute to his resilience and a reminder of the importance of health and perseverance. Running helps me cope with the emotional weight of his illness, my fears of suffering the same fate, and helps me get clarity and hope. It fuels my determination to stay strong, not just for myself, but for my loved ones that depend on me. Through running, I find purpose and a way to channel my love and commitment into something positive, hoping to make a difference in our lives.
With love,
Maria
